Communication is one of the most fundamental and important of human skills. At Unique Prints, addressing communication defienciencies through a variety of therapeutic interventions can be a major component of the treatment process.
3 Areas of communication addressed during therapy:
Speech:
Strength, range-of-motion, and coordination of movement of the structures of the mouth for articulation of words and and oral motor functions for eating and swallowing.
Language:
Understanding and use of symbols, body language and facial expressions to communicate. Auditory Processing:
Discrimination, recognition, and comprehension of auditory information.

We use a vaiety of formal and informal tests to assess speech language and auditory processing:

Formal tests are used to collect normative data to see how the child compares to other children.

Informal tests use play based assessment and language sampling to observe, record, and analyze information about the child.
Intervention:
Games, toys, and projects to make speech therapy fun and exciting.
A child that is engaged and excited about therapy will respond quickly to intervention.
